A Welcoming Home, Designed Around Family
From the beginning, the homeowners wanted warmth, natural light, and room to gather. Vaulted ceilings, natural wood, and French doors bring that vision into the living room. A custom dining table, given to the family by Potter Homes as a move-in gift, seats up to twelve, making space for extended family around one table.
A two-sided fireplace defines the living spaces while keeping them connected. Throughout the tour, the homeowners explain how these choices support the way their family spends time together.
The Details That Make Everyday Life Easier
The kitchen is a natural gathering place, with a generous island seating area, two dishwashers, and an eat-in dining space overlooking the backyard. Folding windows open to the outdoor entertaining area, making it easy to serve food and stay connected with guests by the pool.
Some of the most memorable features are the most personal: a tucked-away pet feeding station with its own water filler, a laundry room with two washer-and-dryer sets, and an upstairs laundry chute inspired by the homeowner's childhood. A nearby pantry gives the children an easy place to grab snacks without crowding the kitchen.
Space to Grow and Make It Their Own
The home has continued to evolve with the family. A former gym became a bedroom, while the gym moved into a converted garage. The children's rooms reflect their individual personalities, and the primary suite offers a quiet retreat with wood ceiling details, a fireplace, and views of a private landscaped water feature.
These are the stories behind the finished spaces: how a home can meet a family's needs today and adapt as life changes.
Outdoor Living on the Cocohatchee River
Outside, the family shares some of their favorite places to spend time. A pool with a grotto and slide, a sunken fire pit, a putting green, and covered seating areas create different ways to gather. The game room and guest house provide more space to entertain and welcome visiting families.
The waterfront setting brings another special connection to the outdoors. A boardwalk and bridge lead to an island that is part of the property, where the family enjoys walking, fishing, and looking at the stars. With boating access through Wiggins Pass, the river is part of daily life at home.
